Cruising at DYC
Cruising at DYC
Dalhousie Yacht Club offers several cruises during the summer season. Cruising is a pleasant way to enjoy the yacht clubs around the Western end of Lake Ontario. DYC cruises offer a chance to explore new places and people while getting to know your own members better! Whether traveling solo, with the entire family or somewhere in between, our cruises offer something for everyone.
Our destinations are reciprocal yacht clubs, so free dockage is the norm. A group potluck is our custom for Saturday evening dinners. Pot luck breakfasts occur frequently. As a result the costs are kept to minimum, leaving your spare change available to take in the nearby attractions or shopping. Our agendas are loose enough to allow our members time to do their own thing, while providing some social hours.
Sign up sheets are located on the notice board in the clubhouse. Sign up is mandatory to ensure a dock is waiting for you at our destination. Friday nights can often be accommodated, but not guaranteed. Please indicate if you plan to arrive early. Space is often limited so PLEASE be fair to your fellow members. If you cannot make a cruise that you signed up for, please us know, so your space can be used by others on the waiting list.
