White Sail - Level I, II, III Introductory levels, where beginners are introduced to sailing and taught the basic skills. |
Bronze Sail - Level IV, V Sailors are introduced to advanced sailing techniques including trapezing and spinnaker use. |
Silver Sail - Level VI Introduction to racing, covering racing rules, sail theory, tactics and advanced boat handling skills. |

ABLE Sail DYC is proud to offer a Learn to Sail program for youth with disabilities. The program is integrated with White Sail levels. There is no attendant care provided. |

Qualification for Enrollment
Qualification for Enrollment
Students must be capable of passing the swim test of 50 yards (life jacket on) and must be able to tread water for one minute (no life jacket). Approved life jacket is to be provided by the student, marked clearly with owner's name. Lunch and snacks must also be provided by the student. Wear comfortable casual clothing in keeping with the weather including running shoes or boat shoes. Sunscreen (SPF 30+) and hat are mandatory. Sunglasses with safety ties are highly recommended. Wet suits are recommended in June. Hot lunch is available Tuesday to Friday at own cost in the club restaurant.

Instructors
All DYC instructors are trained and certified by the Canadian Yachting Association (CYA). In addition to providing sail instruction, each instructor has been trained in life saving and water safety programs.
